Automation of a production line with fault supervision, remote diagnosis and troubleshooting. Jean-Marc Henri flour mill is located in Saint-Roch-de-l’Achigan in Lanaudiere. It manufactures food for farm animals.
The project
The customer wants to automate its production line to increase its power and ensure better control, all without prolonged production downtime. He wants to be able to supervise the entire operation and faults of the equipment, and to have a quick diagnosis of problems if necessary.
The challenge
- Visualize and control the equipment with an operator screen without control bottons in the mill.
- Ensure complete supervision of equipment faults with an efficient communication system for remote troubleshooting.
- Allow the equipment to be reactivated in the event of a fault without opening the live panels.
The solution
- Completion of the project in five stages to minimize prolonged production downtimes.
- Installation of operator screens in the control room to allow full supervision.
- Installation of remote electrical reset controls.
The result
The project was carried out without reducing production. It has enabled a very considerable reduction in production stoppages. When there is an equipment fault, diagnosis is fast and does not require searching, troubleshooting by remote communication is efficient and machines can be restarted without opening live panels.
