Electrical Engineering Intern – Fall 2026 and Winter 2027

Gain hands-on experience through real industrial projects

Groupe BEI is looking for an electrical engineering student to join its team in Saint-Félix-de-Valois, Quebec.

Internship opportunities are available for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters.

Under the supervision of an engineer and in collaboration with our engineering, automation and electrical teams, the intern will participate in various stages of industrial projects completed for our clients.

Key responsibilities

Depending on your level of education, knowledge and the projects underway, you may be asked to:

• Participate in the design and adaptation of industrial electrical systems;
• Create and update electrical plans, schematics and technical drawings;
• Use computer-aided design software, including AutoCAD;
• Assist with the selection of motors, electrical components, power supply systems and protective devices;
• Perform electrical calculations under the supervision of an engineer;
• Contribute to the design and adaptation of control circuits;
• Participate in the programming or modification of programmable logic controllers and human-machine interfaces;
• Assist with the evaluation, implementation and optimization of control systems;
• Prepare equipment and material lists;
• Conduct technical research;
• Participate in technical surveys at client sites and industrial facilities;
• Support teams during testing, troubleshooting and equipment commissioning;
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, programmers, technicians and electricians;
• Contribute to the preparation of technical documents, reports and specifications;
• Follow applicable standards, internal procedures and occupational health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities will be adapted according to the intern’s level of education, skills and progress throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in electrical engineering;
• Strong interest in industrial electricity, automation and control systems;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Curious, resourceful and willing to take initiative;
• Organized and detail-oriented;
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team;
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment;
• Valid driver’s licence, an asset.

Assets

• Knowledge of AutoCAD or another electrical design software;
• Ability to read electrical plans and schematics;
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers and human-machine interfaces;
• Knowledge of industrial communication networks and protocols;
• Knowledge of control circuits, motors and electrical components;
• Previous college-level training in industrial electronics, automation, robotics, programmable electronics, electronics or engineering physics.
